Hola a tod@s, my dear friends.
A couple of months ago and thanks to Enric Benito, I met Gonzalo Brito after have seen a talk in the last Congress of SECPAL.
Gonzalo is from Chile, and he is a clinical psychologist clinical that expanded his training in the Compassion and Altruism Research and Education of the school of Medicine of the University of Stanford (CCARE), being the first instructor certified for impart the program of Compassion Cultivation Training (CCT).
As you can imagine, I wrote him an email introducing me and giving to know the IC-HU Project. The reflection was as follows: IC-HU professionals need training the compassion and add it as a #humantool in our relationship skills.
And how is life, which seems to be everything is casual and nothing is it: one of his CCT courses will be taught in Madrid from next October to December, thanks to the Nirakara Mindfulness Institute, which developes its activity on the Complutense University of Madrid.
But I want to make an idea of the basic themes that are going to talk:
Settlement and focus. Settle the mind in the experience present with acceptance through exercises in which attention is focuses deliberately in the breath; development of mindfulness.
Compassion as natural ability. It helps to recognize psycho-physical signs of compassion through exercises guided and dialogic tools.
Self-compassion. Development of skills such as the self-compassion dialog, self-acceptance and self-guideline in those difficult circumstances. We train how to contact with feelings and needs; and relate them with inclusion and compassion. We point to the cultivation of the self-compassion as the basis for the development of an compassionate attitude towards the others.
Love to one same. Learn to develop qualities of warmth, appreciation, joy and gratitude by one same.
Shared humanity. The bases of the culture of compassion toward others are established through the recognition of our shared common humanity and interdependence.
Compassion. On the above basis, the participants begin to cultivate compassion for all beings.
Active compassion. This step consists of the explicit evocation of altruism; relieving the suffering of others. This practice is known as Tonglen or “give and take”.
Integrated practice of cultivation of compassion. Those essential elements are combined in a practice of compassionate meditation integrated that can be adopted as a daily practice.
I will tell you about the experience, but sounds incredible, doesn´t it?.
Happy Friday,
Gabi
